Russell Joyce is a robotics researcher whose work focuses on accessible, scalable, and intelligent swarm robotic systems. His major contributions center on democratizing advanced robotics through open-source hardware and software platforms. Joyce is best known for creating the Pi-puck extension board, a low-cost Raspberry Pi interface for the e-puck robot platform that dramatically enhances processing power, memory, and wireless networking capabilities—enabling high-level control algorithms for collective robotics.
