Richard Bergs is a pioneering figure in the field of minimally invasive surgery, with a primary research focus on magnetic anchoring and guidance systems (MAGS) and novel laparoscopic instrumentation. His most significant contribution is the development of "trocar-less" surgical techniques, which eliminate the need for multiple abdominal incisions.
