Renxi Qiu’s research lies at the intersection of human-robot interaction, service robotics, and intelligent task planning, with a strong focus on assisting elderly and frail users in home environments. A key contribution is the user-centered design of a dynamic-autonomy remote interaction concept for manipulation-capable robots, detailed in a highly cited 2012 paper (78 citations), which addresses the critical gap between autonomous capability and real-world reliability.
