About
Paritosh Mhatre is a rising leader in advanced manufacturing, with a primary focus on large-scale additive manufacturing and multi-axis robotic systems. His work addresses critical challenges in throughput, precision, and geometric complexity. Mhatre’s most influential contribution, a 2022 study on 5-axis laser directed energy deposition (DED) of Ti-6Al-4V using an 8-axis industrial robot, has garnered 40 citations and demonstrates a novel method for producing complex, high-quality metal parts without traditional support structures. This work is pivotal for industries like aerospace and defense, where part strength and design freedom are paramount. More recently, Mhatre has pioneered a multiplexing extrusion system (2025) that solves the trade-off between extruder size and weight, enabling higher throughput and improved flow accuracy for large-format polymer printers. His research directly addresses the industrial need for faster, more reliable production of oversized components. By integrating robotics with advanced process control, Mhatre is shaping the future of scalable, high-precision additive manufacturing.
