About

Ningyang Wang is a leading figure in intelligent service robotics, best known for developing the award-winning KeJia robot platform. His research focuses on integrating intelligent techniques into mobile manipulation systems designed for real-world domestic environments. Wang’s major contribution is the creation of the KeJia robot, which achieved a historic victory as the Champion of RoboCup@Home in 2014, demonstrating advanced capabilities in human-robot interaction, object recognition, and autonomous navigation. Building on this success, he led the development of KeJia-LC, a low-cost mobile robot platform that won first place in the Demo Challenge on Benchmarking Service Robots at RoboCup 2015. This work proved that high-performance service robots could be made affordable and accessible, a key step toward widespread adoption. His most-cited paper, “The Intelligent Techniques in Robot KeJia – The Champion of RoboCup@Home 2014,” has garnered 10 citations, while the follow-up on KeJia-LC has received 5. Wang’s achievements have established him as a pioneer in benchmarking and deploying service robots, inspiring new generations of researchers to build robots that are both capable and cost-effective.
