Nick Schutgens is a leading researcher in aerosol data assimilation and satellite-based aerosol characterization, whose work bridges critical gaps between observations and climate models. His primary research areas include aerosol optical depth (AOD) validation, satellite product intercomparison, and the assimilation of aerosol observations into global models using advanced ensemble Kalman filters.
