About

Miao Yan is a rising leader in the field of micro/nanorobotics and smart materials, with a focus on designing intelligent, multifunctional systems at the microscale. Her research centers on the magnetic actuation of soft robots and the development of hierarchical nanostructures for dynamic catalysis and controlled degradation. Yan’s major contributions include pioneering the fabrication of hollow hydrogel microrobots capable of autonomous geometric transformation for targeted cargo delivery and functional assembly, and introducing a post-cross-linking protocol that significantly enhances the mechanical properties, freezing resistance, and fracture healing of hydrogels. She has also advanced the design of superassembled, asymmetric magnetic mesoporous nanorobots that combine multifunctionality with fast, durable motion and biodegradability.
