Marco Guidali is a leading figure in neurorehabilitation robotics, whose work has fundamentally advanced the use of robotic exoskeletons for restoring arm function after stroke. His research centers on the design and clinical validation of task-specific, robot-assisted therapy, with a particular focus on the ARMin exoskeleton series. Guidali’s most impactful contribution is the landmark multicentre, parallel-group randomised trial demonstrating the efficacy of three-dimensional, task-specific robot therapy for the arm after stroke, a study that has garnered over 525 citations and established a new standard for evidence-based robotic rehabilitation.
