Marco Belloli is a leading figure in experimental fluid-structure interaction, specializing in floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs). His pioneering work centers on developing and implementing advanced hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) methodologies for wind tunnel testing. Belloli’s major contribution is the design and application of a 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) robotic platform, known as HexaFloat, which physically emulates the complex motions of floating platforms in a controlled wind tunnel environment.
