Liyang Yu’s research bridges the frontiers of soft robotics and biomedical ultrasound, demonstrating a rare versatility in engineering for both tactile sensing and therapeutic intervention. In their early, highly cited work, Yu developed a flexible and stretchable tactile sensor array for robotic hand applications, enabling object distinction through capacitive sensing.
