About
Lin Qin is a researcher focused on precision optical manufacturing, particularly the robotic polishing of infrared optical materials. Her key research areas include material removal modeling, process parameter optimization, and cost-effective fabrication of M-ZnS optical components. In her most cited work (2024), she developed a corrected material removal function model for robotic polishing of M-ZnS using finite element and numerical simulation methods. By establishing a pressure distribution model for the polishing pad and employing curve fitting, she achieved a relative deviation of less than 8% between the model and experimental data, demonstrating high accuracy. Her optimization of key process parameters—recommending a pressure of 0.12–0.18 MPa and a speed ratio of 200/−10 for a 10 mm asphalt pad—enables high-precision, low-cost batch production of M-ZnS optics. With 2 citations, this work provides a foundational framework for advancing deterministic robotic polishing of brittle materials. Lin Qin’s contributions are valuable for researchers and engineers in optical manufacturing, offering practical solutions for improving surface quality and process efficiency.
