K. L. Riverman is a polar oceanographer and glaciologist whose research focuses on the dynamic interactions between ice sheets and the ocean, particularly in Antarctica. Her most notable contribution is the pioneering robotic exploration of the grounding zone of Thwaites Glacier, a critical and vulnerable region of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet.
