About
Jixu Li is a leading figure in deep-sea robotics and marine technology, whose work has pushed the boundaries of ocean exploration. His primary research focuses on the design and operation of autonomous and remotely operated vehicles (ARVs) for extreme environments. Li’s most significant contribution is the development of the Haidou-1 hybrid underwater vehicle, which successfully reached a depth of 10,908 meters in the Mariana Trench’s Challenger Deep.
