About

Jingyuan Xia is pioneering the next generation of surgical robotics, specializing in submillimeter continuum robots for minimally invasive endoluminal and endocavitary interventions. His research focuses on enabling precise, delicate manipulation within the body’s most confined and tortuous natural orifices, a critical frontier for early intervention and precision surgery. Xia’s major contributions include the development of a submillimeter fiber robot capable of decoupled macro-micro motion, allowing for unprecedented navigation and control in tight spaces, as detailed in his most-cited 2024 work (25 citations).
