About
Jiangman Sun is a pioneering researcher at the forefront of advanced materials engineering, with a focus on 4D printing, shape memory composites, and nanostructured carbon aerogels. Their work bridges the gap between programmable soft robotics and high-performance functional materials, introducing transformative approaches to actuator design and lightweight structural composites. Sun’s most notable contribution is the development of a NIR-II light-encoded 4D-printed magnetic shape memory composite, which enables real-time reprogrammable soft actuation—a breakthrough for adaptive robotics and biomedical devices, garnering 8 citations since its 2024 publication. Additionally, Sun innovated a three-dimensional electrospinning and catalytic graphitization technique to fabricate highly flexible, elastic, and graphitized interwoven crimp micro/nano-carbon-fibrous aerogels, achieving exceptional mechanical and electrical properties (5 citations in 2025). This work advances scalable production of multifunctional aerogels for energy storage and sensing. With a growing citation impact and a clear trajectory toward intelligent, responsive materials, Jiangman Sun is establishing themselves as a rising leader in next-generation smart materials and additive manufacturing.
