Dr. Ja-Ho Koo is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on the remote sensing of aerosols and their climatic impacts, with a particular emphasis on ultraviolet (UV) spectral retrievals and long-term aerosol trends. His most cited work, "Ground-based retrievals of aerosol column absorption in the UV spectral region and their implications for GEMS measurements" (2020, 24 citations), provides a critical methodological foundation for interpreting data from the Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS), a pioneering satellite instrument.
