About

Horacio Orozco-Mendoza is a robotics researcher whose work centers on the design, kinematics, and control of parallel manipulators. His most significant contribution is the development of a novel five-degrees-of-freedom decoupled robot, introduced in his 2009 paper (15 citations). This non-overconstrained, redundant design, called LinceJJP, is formed from three parallel manipulators with two moving platforms and six active limbs, eliminating the need for compound joints—a notable advancement for applications requiring high precision and dexterity. Orozco-Mendoza has also explored intelligent control systems, as demonstrated in his 2011 work on neural network-based stability control for a 3RRR planar parallel manipulator (3 citations). More recently, in 2025, he introduced an innovative Schönflies motion generator parallel manipulator, using screw theory to analyze displacement, velocity, acceleration, and singularities (2 citations). His research consistently addresses fundamental kinematic challenges, offering practical solutions for robotic systems that demand decoupled motion and enhanced stability.
