About
Hongshui Wang is a materials scientist whose research focuses on the development of advanced conductive hydrogels and organohydrogels for wearable sensor applications. His most cited work introduces a conductive, ionically cross-linked gluten/poly(vinyl alcohol) composite organohydrogel that overcomes key limitations of conventional hydrogels, including poor freezing resistance and water instability. By ingeniously combining natural gluten with synthetic poly(vinyl alcohol), Wang achieved a material with high tensile strength, self-adhesiveness, and stable electrical conductivity even at low temperatures. This innovation addresses a critical challenge in the field—integrating multiple functionalities into a single hydrogel platform for use in artificial intelligence, health monitoring, and soft robotics. With 7 citations since its 2023 publication, this work has already attracted attention for its practical approach to wearable sensor design. Wang’s contributions stand out for their focus on sustainable materials and real-world applicability, offering a promising pathway toward more robust and versatile electronic skins and flexible electronics.
