About

Hongbin Yu is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on the global lifecycle of aerosols—particularly mineral dust—and their interactions with climate. He is best known for his central role in developing and evaluating NASA’s MERRA-2 aerosol reanalysis, a landmark dataset that provides the first multi-decadal, observationally constrained record of global aerosol distributions.
