About

Hongbao Xin is pioneering the frontier of opto-hydrodynamic micro-robotics, with a focus on light-driven microswarms and bio-inspired microrobots for biomedical applications. His major contributions include the development of a wake-riding effect-inspired opto-hydrodynamic diatom-bot for non-invasive trapping and removal of nano-biothreats like viruses and pathogenic bacteria—a breakthrough for cell culture contamination control.
