About
Guorong Wang is a robotics and automation engineer whose research spans underwater robotic welding, pipeline inspection and plugging systems, and intelligent mining transportation. With a career trajectory spanning nearly two decades, Wang has made foundational contributions to the development of autonomous robotic systems operating in demanding and hazardous environments. Wang's early work focused on underwater welding robotics, pioneering laser vision sensing and binocular stereo vision technologies to enable accurate, real-time weld seam tracking beneath the surface — a notoriously challenging environment plagued by arc interference, image distortion, and turbidity.
