Giri Krishnan is a pioneering head and neck surgeon whose research centers on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly transoral robotic surgery (TORS), for treating complex head and neck cancers. His most influential work, a 2017 study on TORS total laryngectomy (36 citations), demonstrated that this endoscopic approach can reduce the morbidity of traditional open surgery, especially the risk of pharyngocutaneous fistulae, while maintaining functional and survival outcomes.
