About
Dr. Geyuan Jiang is pioneering the next generation of flexible electronics through sustainable, bio-inspired materials. His research centers on the molecular engineering of cellulose and biomacromolecular ionogels for applications in multisensory electronic skin, soft robotics, and biomedical devices. Dr. Jiang’s most impactful contribution is the development of a scalable bacterial cellulose ionogel for multisensory e-skin (122 citations), which overcomes the limitations of complex fabrication and single-sensing capability that plague conventional flexible electronics. He further advanced the field with a general strategy for synthesizing biomacromolecular ionogel membranes via solvent-induced self-assembly (85 citations), and demonstrated stimulation-reinforced cellulose–protein ionogels with superior mechanical strength and temperature resistance (41 citations). His recent work on smart molecular design for functional cellulose gels and a comprehensive review of sustainable cellulose ionogels underscore his leadership in green, high-performance materials. With a growing citation record and a clear trajectory from fundamental molecular design to practical device integration, Dr. Jiang is establishing himself as a key innovator at the intersection of sustainable chemistry and flexible electronics.
