G. S. Golda is a pioneer in molecular diagnostics and laboratory automation, whose work laid foundational stones for modern high-throughput genomic analysis. Best known for the seminal 1990 paper "Automation of specific human gene detection," Golda developed an integrated instrument and chemistry system that automated a process functionally equivalent to Southern blotting.
