About
Enric Celaya is a robotics researcher whose work spans legged locomotion, robot control architectures, and autonomous navigation. He is best known for his foundational contributions to hexapod robot control, particularly the development of efficient algorithms for walking on difficult and abrupt terrain. His 1998 paper on legged robot locomotion control structures, now with 63 citations, established a influential framework for coordinating multi-leg movement across challenging environments, while his subsequent work on reactive free-gait generation (47 citations) extended these capabilities to allow hexapods to follow arbitrary trajectories with adaptive, real-time responsiveness.
