About
Chun Yee Lau is a pioneering translational researcher whose work bridges functional genomics and personalized oncology. Her core research focuses on developing innovative, patient-specific drug screening platforms to identify effective treatments for rare and difficult-to-treat cancers. Lau’s major contribution is the creation of a personalized platform using patient-derived organoids (hindgut models) and Drosophila avatars. In her landmark 2019 study (107 citations), she used this platform to identify the combination of trametinib plus zoledronate for a KRAS-mutant metastatic colorectal cancer patient, leading to a strong partial response that remained stable for 11 months.
