Christine G. Gourin is a pioneering head and neck surgeon and researcher whose work has fundamentally shaped the integration of robotic technology into otolaryngology. Her research spans surgical robotics, transoral robotic surgery (TORS), and the outcomes and cost-effectiveness of oropharyngeal cancer treatment. Gourin’s landmark 2007 paper, “A history of robots: from science fiction to surgical robotics” (266 citations), established her as a leading voice on the evolution of robotic surgery.
