About
Harry Quon is a pioneering head and neck surgeon and researcher whose work has fundamentally reshaped the treatment of oropharyngeal cancer. His primary research focus is the development and optimization of transoral robotic surgery (TORS), a minimally invasive technique that has become a cornerstone of organ-preserving cancer care. Quon’s major contributions include leading some of the earliest prospective clinical trials demonstrating the feasibility and oncologic safety of TORS for radical tonsillectomy (598 citations) and for advanced oropharyngeal carcinoma (323 citations). He was instrumental in showing that TORS, often combined with selective neck dissection and risk-adapted adjuvant therapy, could achieve excellent local control while reducing treatment-related morbidity.
