Dr. Cheng-Hsuan Lu is a leading figure in atmospheric science, whose work is central to the operational prediction of aerosols—tiny particles that affect air quality, weather, and climate. His most impactful contribution is his leadership in developing the International Cooperative for Aerosol Prediction Multi-Model Ensemble (ICAP-MME), a foundational system that combines multiple global aerosol models to produce a more accurate and reliable “consensus” forecast.
