C. Ledoux is a leading astrophysicist whose work centers on gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) as powerful probes of the early universe, particularly the epoch of reionization and the end of the cosmic dark ages. A landmark contribution is the detection and analysis of GRB 060927 at a redshift of z = 5.47, reported in a highly cited 2007 study (66 citations).
