About
C. J. Seftor is a leading figure in satellite-based aerosol remote sensing, with a primary focus on characterizing smoke and dust plumes in the atmosphere. Their most significant contribution is the development and extension of the Aerosol Single-scattering albedo and layer Height Estimation (ASHE) algorithm. Originally designed for smoke aerosols, Seftor’s seminal 2015 paper (cited over 55 times) expanded the ASHE framework to include dust aerosols by incorporating nonspherical particle properties.
