Dr. Baozhen Zhang is pioneering the frontier of biohybrid micro/nanorobotics for precision immunotherapy and gastrointestinal disease treatment. Their research centers on engineering living cells—specifically yeast and CAR T cells—into self-propelling, biocompatible robots capable of navigating complex biological environments. A landmark contribution is the development of the Magnetic–Acoustic Sequentially Actuated CAR T Cell Microrobot (M‑CAR T), which combines magnetic guidance with acoustic propulsion to overcome solid tumor barriers and activate antitumor immunity in situ, garnering 84 citations.
