Alireza Dolatshahi-Pirouz is a pioneering biomaterials scientist whose research sits at the dynamic intersection of tissue engineering, soft electronics, and smart biomaterials. His work has fundamentally advanced the understanding and application of self-healing hydrogels, earning widespread recognition — most notably through his landmark 2019 review on self-healing hydrogels in tissue engineering, which has accumulated over 590 citations and helped reframe how researchers approach hydrogel durability and clinical viability.
