About
Dr. Yuli Wang is pioneering the next generation of wearable bioelectronics, with a focused expertise in stretchable conductors and epidermal electronics. Their major contributions lie in overcoming the critical limitations of liquid metal-based systems—namely poor wettability, complex fabrication, and lack of recyclability. Dr. Wang’s most influential work, a 2025 study on highly stretchable, moisture-permeable on-skin electrodes from liquid metal and fiber mat (14 citations), introduces a paradigm shift by combining mechanical compliance with breathability, essential for long-term medical monitoring. This is complemented by their development of highly elastic, permeable liquid metal–iron fibre mat conductors (8 citations), which directly address the challenges of wettability and recyclability for robust electrophysiological monitoring. By engineering materials that are both highly conductive and comfortably wearable, Dr. Wang is enabling advanced applications in medical therapy, soft robotics, and human–machine interaction. Their innovative approach to creating simple, scalable fabrication processes for high-performance, recyclable conductors marks a significant step toward practical, everyday wearable health technologies and smart textiles.
