About
Wenkui Xing is a rising leader in the development of advanced functional materials for thermal and electrical management, with a particular focus on liquid metals and conductive polymers. Their research ingeniously addresses the challenge of creating high-performance, three-dimensional conductive networks. Xing’s major contributions include pioneering a bottom-up approach to generate isotropic liquid metal networks within polymers for 3D thermal management, and developing a simple ball-milling method to construct 3D graphene networks in gallium-based liquid metals, significantly enhancing both thermal and electrical performance. They have also advanced the field of soft actuators by engineering multi-stimuli-responsive biomimetic materials using asymmetric graphene-conjugated polymer gradient films. With each of their most-cited papers garnering over 30 citations, Xing’s work demonstrates substantial impact. Notably, their studies on hot pressing to improve the conductivity of thick PEDOT:PSS films and on structural engineering of copper fillers in liquid metal composites provide practical, scalable solutions for next-generation electronics cooling and flexible devices.
