About

Mike Nguyen is a pioneer in robotic urologic surgery, with a career defined by advancing minimally invasive techniques and surgical technology. His key research areas include robotic and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, continence outcomes after prostatectomy, and the development of novel interfaces for telementoring and surgical visualization. Nguyen’s most impactful work, a 2008 matched-pair comparison of robotic versus laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (186 citations), demonstrated the safety and efficacy of the robotic approach in a high-volume centre, helping to establish robotic partial nephrectomy as a standard of care.
