All four of Lin's most-cited works — spanning fuzzy control theory, Lyapunov stability analysis, and ecosystem modeling — were retracted following a major investigation by SAGE Publications and the *Journal of Vibration and Control*. In 2013, editors uncovered a fraudulent peer review ring centered around Peter Chen at National Pingtung University of Education, Taiwan, involving assumed and fabricated reviewer identities.
