About

Dr. Junyu Wang is a pioneering researcher in neurorehabilitation and spinal cord injury (SCI), with a focus on the intersection of robotics, gut physiology, and the brain–gut axis. In a landmark 2024 pilot study, Dr. Wang demonstrated that exoskeleton-assisted walking (EAW) can significantly improve bowel function in individuals with motor-complete SCI—a finding that addresses one of the most debilitating secondary complications of paralysis.
