Jan Gummert is a pioneering cardiac surgeon whose work has fundamentally shaped the fields of robotic and mechanical circulatory support. His research centers on two transformative areas: computer-enhanced minimally invasive cardiac surgery and the development of total artificial hearts as destination therapy.
