About

Hayato Ohba is a pioneering researcher in human-robot interaction (HRI), best known for advancing the field of multi-party communication between robots and groups of people. His landmark 2005 work, “Dynamic Communication of Humanoid Robot with Multiple People Based on Interaction Distance,” with 32 citations, was among the first to move beyond the one-robot–one-person paradigm, proposing a method for robots to dynamically adjust their behavior based on interaction distance when engaging with multiple individuals.
