About
D. Renker is a leading figure in very-high-energy (VHE) gamma-ray astrophysics, whose work centers on the long-term monitoring of bright blazars and the technological advancement of Cherenkov telescopes. Renker’s key contributions include pioneering the use of silicon photomultipliers (G-APDs/SiPMs) in the FACT (First G-APD Cherenkov Telescope), the first telescope to successfully employ this solid-state technology for routine, remote operation since 2011.
