Abstract

The Argo programme was developed to provide near real-time observations of the ocean and contribute significantly to understanding the changes occurring in ocean temperature and salinity in the upper 2000 m. Riser et al. Furthermore, Argo observations have occurred globally, albeit with higher resolution in regions where deployment opportunities were more prevalent.
