Abstract
Industrial robots with middle or high loads are currently driven by gearboxes with cycloidal shaped gear toothing. The Gear Research Center (FZG) of the Technische Universität München analyzed in a project founded by the Bayerische Forschungsstiftung, if it is possible to meet the high demands of mechanical drive trains with involute toothing. Prototypes of such a gearbox have been built and successfully tested.
