Abstract
This study introduces a new exoskeleton designed for physiotherapy purposes utilizing an Arduino ATmega 328p microcontroller and electromyography (EMG) sensors to interpret muscle movements in the hand. The exoskeleton, built to handle a 20kg weight load is intended to aid in treatments and support individuals, in tasks. By employing signal processing algorithms EMG signals are translated into control instructions for the exoskeletons linear actuator offering tailored assistance based on the muscle activity patterns of the user. The initial model exhibits promising outcomes highlighting the potential of technology in improving rehabilitation procedures and assisting individuals with mobility challenges. This study contributes to the progression of technologies in healthcare and rehabilitation, within the realm of assistance.
