Abstract
In this paper, a new direct simple adaptive control is proposed for two-mass systems. One of the contributions is the clarification of a new design method and, in addition. A proof of the stability of the system is established. The number of the adjustable parameters is just three, which is the same as the conventional simple adaptive control system. Furthermore, we show a response of the proposed method is better than the one of the conventional scheme. The proposed method can be applied to hard disk drives, large structural systems, hands of robots, and so on
