Abstract

Abstract: Information needed to support ground mobility decisionmaking is critical to the success of ground operations. The ability to rapidly obtain and process relevant information in a network-centric environment will empower warfare planners. In addition, future networkcentric operations that will include autonomous unmanned ground vehicles as envisioned in the Future Combat Systems program will increasingly require the exchange of well-structured information between human forces and robotic systems. Addressing this operational challenge begins with a clear understanding of the information content needed for ground mobility planning. The purpose of the Mobility Common Operational Picture (M-COP) project is to specify a standardized vocabulary and conceptual relationships for the expression and transfer of ground vehicle maneuver data, planned routes, trafficability assessments, and other parameters associated with Future Force assured mobility
