Abstract
Extraordinary intelligence, incredible abilities to take the decision, high flexibility, and soft interaction with the outer physical world, scientist and researchers always been keen and interested to develop a machine inspired by octopus arm. A Several materials, actuators and technologies have been introduced to achieve the extraordinary features of octopus. Based on the previous work a brief review of different papers have been done and a model of new design concept has been proposed which can mimic as well as resolved the limitations of the previous models. Design of hybrid type of actuator has been introduced which enable artificial octopus arm to bend, float, swim and grasp the object smoothly. Unlike the others developed octopus arm, it would have no sound and vibration, more strength to hold the object and can be operated at low voltage.
