Face direction recognition system for robot control system using fingertip gesture

Abstract

The face direction recognition system using “Intel RealSense SR300” has been developed to support the fingertip gesture recognition system. Face direction (Front, Rightward, Leftward) is able to be recognized from the angle in the yaw direction out of the three-dimensional angle information of the user's face. The authors conducted experiments on performance comparison with the face direction recognition system using a webcam. As a result, the comfort of the operation of the mobility robot by the fingertip gesture was improved.
