Abstract

In commercial and logistics activities, small and light materials have a great advantage in terms of quantity. In view of the market demand for small and light material handling, this article introduces the design, control and implementation of an intelligent material handling robot. The robot has functions such as color and shape recognition, grayscale line patrol, autonomous operation, navigation and positioning, and material handling. In order to realize the flexible movement of the robot in a small space, a moving chassis with an omnidirectional wheel as the walking mechanism is designed and driven by a DC geared motor. In order to enable the robot to stably complete the grasping and handling of materials, a mechanical claw driven by a steering gear is designed. In addition, in order to realize the function of the robot being able to grasp materials of different heights or grasp multiple materials, a lifting structure driven by a stepper motor is designed. After experimental verification, the designed robot system has stable and complete functions, has good passing ability, simple operation, high efficiency in multi-material handling, and realizes automated intelligent material handling. The main contribution of this article is the design and implementation of an intelligent robot that facilitates the handling of materials in a smaller space.
