Abstract

A multifunction electronic skin (e-skin) based on the thermosensation of a platinum ribbon array is reported by Rong Zhu and Shuai Zhao in article number 1606151. Human-like multimodal sensing capabilities of perceiving mechanical and thermal stimuli, discriminating matter type, and sensing wind are integrated in the e-skin with simple structure and high-integration, which enables wide applications in skin prosthetics, humanoid robotics, and wearable health monitoring.
